Bobby actually said the exact line on 2001Apr28

‘Karpov was never the world champion.’

This is EXACTLY the wording I use : I say that each of Magnus Carlsen & Hikaru Nakamura ‘was never the world champion’:

• Magnus was never the world champion.
• Carlsen was never the world champion.
• Magnus Carlsen was never the world champion.
• Hikaru was never the world champion.
• Nakamura was never the world champion.
• Hikaru Nakamura was never the world champion.

because I define ‘world champion’ as classical WFRCC, the same way I’m sure Bobby would define ‘world champion’. I just never thought Bobby would use the same wording. I thought Bobby would say ‘never the world chess champion’ or ‘is a fake world champion’.

• Note : In this case, Bobby is the 0th classical WFRCC while Wesley So is the inaugural current and ONLY classical WFRCC. Wesley So is indeed Bobby’s one true & only successor…at least in chess. I guess Sergey Karjakin is Bobby’s successor in politics. Lol.

1 – Hikaru is the rapid WC while Bobby Fischer’s nephew Wesley So is the classical WC.

2 – Magnus is a 5x classical WCC, 6x blitz WCC & 4x rapid WCC but 0x classical WC & 0x rapid WC.
