While updating the Chess 2023Apr – Good guys vs Bad guys based on Liren Ding’s stupid list of role model players (Also Team Hans vs Team Magnus), I happened to see that as of 2023Aug25 :

Nepo is top 2 in all of FIDE 9LX :

  • top 2 in the 2019 WFRCC in terms of score not just in combination but in the individual parts
    • top 2 in classical 9LX in the 2019 WFRCC in score (whether you include all games or just the semi-finals & finals)
    • top 2 in rapid 9LX in 2019 WFRCC in score (just the semi-finals & finals)
  • top 2 in rapid 9LX in 2022 WFRCC and only by Armageddon
  • (not top 2 in the 2022 St Louis Chess9LX – like the only correct use of ‘9LX’ in this post. LOL – but did tie w/ Shak for 2nd highest score!)

Liren never even played 9LX in FIDE or St Louis?
